Înaintea meciului cu FCSB, Cristi Săpunaru a transmis un mesaj important.

FCSB and Rapid will meet on Saturday night at the National Arena in Bucharest, in the last match of the season for both teams in the SuperLiga. Although neither team will fight for anything, Cristi Sapunaru believes that the match will be one to watch.

FCSB lost the SuperLiga title this season, being defeated by Farul in the previous round with a score of 3-2. Qualified for the UEFA Conference League preliminaries, the team coached by Elias Charalambous will host Rapid on Saturday at the National Arena in Bucharest, in the last match of this season. The guys of Adrian Mutu’s team want to offer their fans a victory as a sign of gratitude for their support.

Cristi Sapunaru, the captain of Rapid, was present at the press conference before the match with FCSB and had a message for the supporters, but also for the direct opponent. „A match that means a lot to supporters, but which no longer counts in the standings. We are looking forward to it! I would have liked it to count, but it’s good like this. It will never seem like a friendly derby. Anyone who thinks that is deeply mistaken! This match will never be a friendly one. We do not know if the stadium will be full, we hope there will be as many supporters as possible. Our 2,800 fans will be there for sure. We hope to offer them a beautiful match.

„We are going through an extraordinary phase? We have six wins in a row and we are trying to make it seven (laughs). We are interested in winning and the supporters being satisfied. I am not interested in the fact that they lost the championship, I am interested in what we do. We have accomplished one goal, we did not manage to accomplish the second one. We had to enter the playoffs and win the Cup. We entered the playoffs but we set another goal, European Cups, which we did not manage to reach. It will be a match between FCSB and Rapid. You will see how it will be at the stadium. I do not know if they will play with the reserves. They have a coach who could say, I understand they had a press conference. I do not know if a victory would save the end of the championship, but it would make the fans happy. I am not in a position to talk about exams. There are people in the club, that’s their job. I will never talk about other players. Ask the coach, those in management.” – Sapunaru said, according to Digi Sport.
